You Can Make Money Doing Nothing-NOT

Yes, yes I know you have this burning desire to make money and yet you don’t want to do anything to get it. I suppose you can marry a sugar daddy/mommy, or win the lottery, maybe you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. But the odds of that are slim, plus I still think those would take some kind of work.

Now let me say something else. You can, AFTER some hard work make a passive income of some kind. But note the after hard work part. The internet can and does for a few people make them a living where they are at the point that they have to do nothing to get more money. But most of these people have worked long and hard to get to that point.

The gurus of the internet world take days and sometimes weeks off from doing there business and they still make money. Those are the days you can honestly say that they are making money doing nothing. But please understand that these people did not start that way. You first have to do a whole lot of something, a whole lot of work before you can do a whole lot of nothing. So if that is your goal in life, to let the internet come to a point where it can work for you while you do nothing, then read on.

You first need to change your mindset. Get out of the “I know there is a quick and easy, free and do no work way to make money on the internet.” Because my friend, there just is NOT. However, there are ways to keep making money in the long run, whether you work or not.

Let me explain some interesting facts about the things people, that is me and you, will purchase online. Say 100 people buy a good and solid way to make money online program.

Out of those 100 people statistics show that only 20% or 20 people will take any action at all with their new purchase and of those 20 people only 20% or 4 people will ever make any money with it. 96 people will be on the look out for the next best, make money and do nothing program. This is known as the 80/20 rule.

I hope that you can see that you can’t make money online doing nothing, at least not in the beginning. In the beginning you have to work and work hard and diligent. When you first come online there is so much to learn. Read and look at all the different ways but don’t jump into anything until you are sure that you will do the program from start to finish. Make it set in your mind that you are a finisher and that your goal is one day to be writing an article on “How I make money doing nothing.”

What gets you to open an email?

I woke up this morning and of course first thing I did was to look at my email.. Well..I have to say this. I am just getting so tired of the “catch me phrases” that litter the subject line. So I thought what gets me to open an email? For instance these do not work for me:

I’ve got bad news…Do they really think i want bad news first thing in the morning? Just keep it to yourself!

Can I tell you a secret…NO you cant, I cant keep secrets

Stop what your doing and read this…I don’t want to stop, go away

The secret is out…Who cares if the secret is out, another new secret will be out tomorrow.

Someone finally cured…Oh yeah right, like I believe that one.

Important-Must read in next five minutes…OMG that has to be the silliest thing I ever heard

Brand newIs there such a thing as original thought anymore?

blah
blah
and blah

then click
click
click
and delete

So that is my personal opinion on writing a grabbing line for emails which are the words that should get me to open an email. I am simply tired of all the ick and crap that is written to get me to open an email. So what do I think will get me to open an email? The persons name is the first thing, and the only other thing that will get me to open an email in the subject place is something that is not hype.

Subjects with I’m sorry, You just have to look, Sorry I am sending this out again but it is so important, just don’t work with me. I need bold. I am selling this, Buy this because, I tried this and it worked, I want to help you and things like that.

Yes this was a bit of a personal rant, but I cant believe I am the only one out there thinking these things.

Website design

When you are doing business online, the people that you want to come to your site, cannot physically see walls and shelves and products. So instead what they do see is the website design of your business. You website then becomes the hub of your business life online. And as it is true in the real world it is true online. People judge a book by hits cover or people will judge your business level of professionalism by your website design.

It is important that your website design show your visitors that you are professional and care about the quality of your design, i.e. your business. In a real store on some street you would not let your sales people run around in cut offs and t-shirts with holes in them, would you? No, of course you would not; you would want to show that you were professional and dressed for business. First impressions are vital in all aspects of our life, business life included and the first impression you will make will be in your website design.

It is the same online. If you throw up a five minute shabbily done website, you are literally telling everyone that comes, that you are not a professional and that you don’t really care about quality. Worse the website design may be telling them that you might be some fly by night salesman that they should not trust. So make sure that your website design shows what you want it to.

Now if on the other side, you have a wonderfully done professional looking website design, you are telling your visitors that you cared enough to do it right and that you think details are important. You show a great sense of professionalism and that you are going to be around to do business.

Good Website Design Practices

You website is where you customers will go to purchase something from you. Make sure that your website design has clear directions on the navigation of your website. The navigation menu should be uncluttered and concise so that visitors know how to navigate around your website without confusion.

When doing website design for your business website it is best to keep down the number of images on your website. They make your site load very slowly and more often than not they are very unnecessary. If you think any image is essential on your site, make sure you optimize them using image editing programs so that they have a minimum file size.

Keep the text on your website design in “readable chunks.” If the paragraphs are too long, then shorten them or make two paragraphs, as people are more likely to read it. Use bullets to point out important concepts.

Make sure your website design is cross-browser compatible. If your website looks great in Internet Explorer but breaks horribly in Firefox and Opera, you will lose out on a lot of prospective visitors.

Website design rule to make sure your website performs well:

Do not use splash pages

Splash pages are the first pages you see when you arrive at a website. They normally have very beautiful pictures with welcoming words or enter website here. They are empty and worthless as they really have no purpose. Don’t give your visitors any reason to click the leave or back button! Give them the immediate value of your site upfront.

Do not use excessive banner advertisements

Too many banners and people don’t see them. So it is a waste of your website space. Instead provide more valuable content and use affiliate links or adsense and let your customers want to buy something from you.

Have a simple and clear navigation on your website design

This is a critical step. You should have a well thought out simple way to navigate around on your site. It should be easy enough for a child to use. Don’t have complicated Flash based menus or multi-tiered drop down menus. If they can’t find the buy button or are having a hard time going where they want to go on your site, they will leave. Don’t give them that chance.

Avoid using audio on your website design

Have you ever been to a site that has that annoying audio feed of the same 30 second speech over and over again? Well don’t put one on your site. Your customer while reading your site is not going to want to hear it. If you just have to have audio, then give the option of closing it or turning the volume down by the customer.

Think through every aspect of your website design. Make it user friendly and people will keep coming back.

Things to NOT do to get traffic to your sites

If you have a website one of the toughest things to do is to get traffic to them. There are plenty of articles out there telling you all the things that you need to do if you want more traffic. I thought it would be nice to speak on what NOT to do if you want to get and keep people coming to your website.

Do not make it hard to get around your website
The first thing would be to not make it so stinking hard to get around your site. I can not tell you the amount of times I have gone to a website and had to look for the things that I wanted to look at.

Sometimes even the buy key is hiding from me. So please if you want traffic to your website and you want to keep that traffic coming back then make navigating your website easy and enjoyable. For most people are not patient and if they cannot find what they want right away, you know what they do? Yeup, they leave!

Do not ignore your visitor’s suggestions and questions
Remember without visitors to your website, there really is no reason to have a website. That and you will never make any money online. Never disregard or ignore a comment or a question. Part of having a website is to build a relationship and that means they need to trust you. Would you trust someone that never pays attention to what you say? If they criticize your site, tell them thank you and you will look into it. You don’t have to get all huffy and defensive.

Do not fill your site with advertising
No one really likes going to a site that is filled with advertising banners and ads. It is too busy to look at and most people will just leave. People like neat and tidy websites that they can find easily the things they want to find. Plus if you have ads on your site make sure that they are relative to your niche. Do not sell dog food on a make money site.

Do not plagiarize your content
Your site should be full of information that is unique. The articles and opinions that you give out should be your own. You don’t want your site penalized either due to duplication. If people come to your site and see the same old content they have seen forever then they will leave and not come back. It is good to have quotes and even visiting authors but make sure to give credit where credit is due.

Do not have links that are broken
Have you ever gone to a site read the information and then pushed on the link that says if you want to read more and you get a bad link? What a waste of time that is! Make sure that when your site is up and running all the links work. Dead links might make people think that you are no longer running your site, so they leave and don’t come back.

The Four Keys to
Writing Articles

The next step in your article domination progress is to learn the keys to writing articles that others want to read. First off, look for a good source for your researching your article. Of course it makes it a lot easier to write an article if you know what you are talking about.

We did the keyword search and we found the keywords that would work. Let’s use Screaming Eagle Harley Davidson. Like I said if you have a like or passion for the niche you choose the keys to writing articles is at that point much easier to naturally write about it. If not it can still be done.

One of the keys to writing articles is to go to the Google search engine and type in your keyword, screaming eagle Harley Davidson, with or without quotes is fine for this. Look at the top five to ten sites. Pick out strings of information that you can use. Remember this information can be from any source; magazines, books, newsletters and newspapers to name a few.

The second of the keys to writing articles that you want to get read is to open a notepad and copy and paste the info you would like to write into your article there, that way you can save it easier and go back often to look at it. Depending on your topic this process can be hard or easy.

One of the hardest keys to writing articles is to simply not get stuck in the research. It is difficult sometimes not to want to sit and read all about the subject, but don’t take the time to do this right now as you need to get busy writing.

Let’s move on to the actual writing of the article. You will be given the four keys to writing articles. Just take it step by step and you don’t have to be a great writer to pull off an amazing article. Your task is to get good information out there, and perhaps your style of writing will speak to people in a way that the same information delivered differently would not.

Your article needs to be about 400-600 words and you should break up the article with little bullets of information. It makes it more readable and less boring for the reader. Now write as you would talk to the person you are trying to teach or sell something to.

There is a basic structure that all your articles should comply with:

  1. Title
  2. Opening paragraph
  3. Middle
  4. Closing paragraph

Title
Needs to have impact and offer a benefit or suggest a solution to a problem. Your keywords always go into the title. Top 10 Reasons to Have a Screaming Eagle Harley Davidson. The title is used to capture the attention of the reader and for us to do some SEO (search engine optimization).

Opening paragraph
Again somewhere in this first paragraph you need to put your keyword. Make it a natural progression and don’t just stick it somewhere it does not belong. This introduction needs to draw your reader in, capture them with some delightful hook if possible. You can try different strategies such as: a shocking statement, a quote, a question that the reader just has to have the answer to, a short story or even just a statement.

Middle
In this part you can add if it goes in naturally, your keywords. The bulk of this part is to add interesting information, facts and ideas. What ever you do, do NOT end your article here, give the reader reason to read on.

Closing paragraph or conclusion
You can summarize the benefits of what you showed the reader and then let the information flow into the resource box which I where they will be able to click onto your website, which is the goal.

This article showed you the four keys to writing articles, in the next article I will be talking about the absolute importance of the resource box and how to write a good one. Remember that your article is not about you, but about giving your reader information he is seeking.

Submit To Article Directories.
Three Mistakes
You May Be Making

This is for everyone that writes or wants to write, now is the time to hone your writing skills and let the creative juices start to flow. This is the time of information based marketing, which after all is one of the oldest and most effective techniques to use to get targeted prospects to your site and get them to covert to customers. This is why it is vital that you know about article writing, how to submit to article directories and how to do both and do them well.

There are already many tools that people can use to take their content and submit to article directories, many choices out there to make the process of distributing their articles more easily. Though this is invaluable in getting the contents more exposure, it is only half of the story.

Let us take a look first at the three common mistakes that some people make before they submit to article directories:

Do you confuse the reason for writing the article with the reason to promote it?

In article writing, there are three key profits to why you are promoting them in the first place

  1. Branding
  2. Lead generation
  3. Promotion

These three things are all part of your optimization efforts.

On the other hand there is but one reason that you should write an article, and that is to inform your audience. If you write all day long and your article is not focused on this one primary purpose, then it will fail to achieve the three promotion benefits because you will have no one reading your content.

The first thing that you need to work on is just how to get people to read your articles, then how do you get them to click on your site in your author resource box. Remember the only way that you can get them to read your writing is to give them great content. Bad content and you might submit to article directories and get turned away.

Are you failing to make the most of the promotional opportunities article marketing has to offer you?

When you submit to article directories, depending on the quality of your article and how you set it up, will determine how you can maximize your efforts to get more traffic. A simple article with nothing optimized and worked on will still get links, but did you know that by doing small little things you can increase your visitor traffic and better search engine results for the same articles?

What you have to do is optimize, optimize and then optimize some more. When you submit to article directories make sure your article uses your keywords throughout your article at 1 to 4 percent density. Make sure to use your keyword in the title, first paragraph and conclusion. Do not go hog wild and put them every other word, which surely will not help.

When you submit to article directories make sure to check their rules. Some allow anchor text; this is a great method to get your site out there. Anchor text is using keywords hyperlinked to your site, Instead of click here, go here and such.

An important reminder is that it is not all about getting links back to your site, but in getting that article picked up by other publishers and put on their site and so on. You want your one little article to go viral and be seen everywhere. That way you can become an authority site and better search engine results also are great benefits.

We all know that there is a big difference between visitors and customers and it is the whole promotion effort that is doing the work, not just one piece of it. You must start out with a plan and see to it that your article serves the purpose that you created it for. Did you give anything of value out in your words?

Are you publishing articles with content that will not help your readers?

Have you started your article with the thought that you have to get it done, if you want to keep on schedule? Or that you are doing it to get money, links or fame? Well guess what? You lost your main purpose and that is to write content that informs your audience.

Besides that publisher of article sites have the right and actually use it quite often to not accept your article. No good content, no one reads it. You can double the number of sites that your article will go on by simply writing better content.

If you want your article marketing to be effective then write like it matters. Know the standard guidelines before you submit to article directories as that will keep the submission quick and easy. Make sure to check your spelling and grammar do good research and give out valuable content. If you can not write then hire someone to do it for you, it’s that important.

Of course when you submit to article directories the end result is up to you. You can do the very least that is required to get your article accepted and reap those small rewards or your can go for the massive exposure that you will attract when you take the time to write and informative and worthy article. Ask yourself if you would want to spend the time reading your article?

To make money online you need more than a dream

I just wrote up an article starting at the very beginning of what a new person online should do when they come online with their dreams of how they are going to make money online. I made sure to point out that online is visual and if you are going to do just about anything online, then you should know how to write.

The article was simple and basic; it spoke of learning grammar or at least reviewing it. It also spoke of knowing article format. But most of all it spoke of simply writing. If you are online and selling anything at all, from information products to services to programs, you need to know how to communicate, how to write to the people that you are trying to reach. You cannot make money online without knowing this.

I then gave out the little exercise of writing out a list of things that the person has an interest, or that their friends have an interest in. I asked for at least a list of ten things and then added if you can’t come up with ten things or don’t want to write or learn to write, then perhaps making money online was not for them.

That gave me pause. No one had ever said that to me. No one said if you don’t write, or don’t want to write then you will not succeed at making money online. Was that a true statement?

I know many people make it online, but I also know that less than five percent of the millions that come online ever make any money at all. Most of the ones that come to mind knew how to write or had learned how to write. I don’t believe that everyone is a natural writer.

So sitting here thinking it over, I came to the decision that if you can not write, can not learn to write, don’t want to write, then it is a true statement for online money making. You would not be able to write a simple email. Yes there is audio and video and that can be a possibility but you still need to be able to write a script up to read, so writing is still necessary. So making money online takes a good deal of writing.

Anyway that is my thought on it, anyone have others?

4 Valuable Steps to Make Money Fast on the Internet

You want to make money fast on the internet. Follow these four steps and your dream can come true. Making money is not sitting back and doing nothing, you have to work these four steps, but the best thing about them is you can reuse them over and over again and make more money.

Before we start let’s define a few terms:

Niche marketing as defined by Wikipedia is the process of finding and serving profitable market segments and designing custom-made products or services for them.

Niche is a general area of interest, a passion, a hobby, it is what people do like; puzzle making, flower arranging or mountain climbing.

The four steps

Find a Niche that you are passionate about.Write down a list of everything that you enjoy doing, seeing or talking about. Don’t worry about what they are or if they will work right now, the next step will take care of that. On your list make sure you have at least 20 things written down.

Evaluate the niches you have chosen

This is a step that may seem difficult but really is not, but is vital if you want to make money fast on the internet. Take your niche and head over to Google search engine. Type in the niche and see how many competing pages there are. If there is none then it is not good. Look at the paid advertisements; you should see at least five to be a profitable niche.

The second part to evaluating your niche is to go to forums and see if your niche has people that are interested in it. See if there is a problem that you can solve. On the forums you can find the problems from people that are talking of it a lot. On Google search engine type in Forum: your niche and hit enter, it will come up with all the forums that have your niche in them.

Do this with all your niche ideas and toss out the ones that are not answered in the second step. It most likely will not be worth your time and you do want to succeed.

Come up with a product that will solve the problem you found

This can be a short report 5-25 pages
EBook 30-150
Mini course
Software program
Audio tapes
Video course

The final step is to sell it

This step takes a bit more learning, but once you get the foundations down all the rest will come easy. You need to have a domain, webhosting, autoresponder, good sales page, not to mention some way to collect money like pay pal. You will also need to have traffic steps in place. They can be paid traffic or free traffic like writing articles, without traffic you have no sales.

Once you become familiar with these 4 Valuable Steps to Make Money Fast on the Internet and you get all the foundations and basic you will need to promote then you can use this formula in more niches and make more money by repeating it.

Make money at home online

I woke up this day with a bad attitude and started to think about making money online. Why was it so important to me to be able to make money online? Everyone will have a different reason for wanting to make money online and stay home.

Here are some of the better ones:

  • Spending more time with my family
  • Having money to buy the things that I want
  • Not working for others
  • Not making money for others while I get minimum wage
  • Wanting to travel
  • Wanting to be able to give to others

So if any of these is your goal, you have to ask if it is possible? Well we know it is. We keep reading story after story about it being feasible. If they can, then why cant you? You can but you have to put a lot of work into it first. There is so much that you need to know before you can do it. Let me tell you the things you DON’T want to do.(Yes, I did all of these things when I first came online and even today I have to work pretty hard at not following the golden goose, because she is not laying golden eggs for me!)

Things you should never do:

  1. Never jump from program to program to program. Doing this is a waste of your time and money. Research the program even if they are offering it for free. Find out if it is something that you want to do and then do it. But more than doing it is to stick with it. Give it time.
  2. Never get into anything if you do not have goals set of what you want.
  3. Never believe that making money is easy and fast. It is NOT! You have to pay your dues with time and effort. There simply is no way around it. If you think there is then you will be chasing every scam (golden goose) out there.
  4. Never pay to work. There are companies, programs, scams that entice new people that come online to buy this or that and they will put you in with some company and you will make money. Data Entry and taking surveys come to mind. Don’t do it. The only thing you should be spending money on is good research e books and tutorials.

Keyword Search

This week has been quite amazing for me. I have decided to do all my focusing on article writing and the first of this is to be for keyword search.

When you decide to do article marketing. This means that you need to write an article about 500 words and submit it to the article directories. When you do that it is important to use the right keyword and this means doing the right keyword search.

If you use something like article content or article writing you are competing with others in the millions that already have pages out there. So you need to do some good keyword search and find words that are not being competed with so much.

Most people that are new to the internet business world do not understand the full concept behind keyword search and the importance of the right keywords. We shall be discussing keyword search for the long tail keyword or the keyword phrase. Long tail keywords usually use 2 or more words.

So where do you do keyword search and what keywords should you use? I use Traffictravis, wordtracker, buzzkeyword and Google keyword search tool. I use the free keyword search tools because that is what I need to do right now. If you can afford to purchase a keyword search tool then that would make it easier.

Now for keyword search you have to start off with a niche. For your first one it is better to find something that you know and or enjoy. I am going to do keyword search for Harley Davidson. It is widely known and appreciated. It is a very competitive niche, but then some competition is not always a bad thing.

Now go to your keyword search tool and type in Harley Davidson and look at the results that come up. There are over 4 million daily searches for this keyword. But look down the list and find keywords that have around 1000 searches per month.

I then take the keywords and go to Google search. I type in the keywords and look at the competing page number. Make sure to put quotes around your keywords to give you exact word usage and the number of times that the keyword actually is used. You want to find competition that is below 10,000 competing pages.

If you keep in mind those two defining rules; competing pages below 10,000 and searches over 1000, and you find keywords within those definitions, then you have found an excellent word.

Research for Harley Davidson—excellent words

keyword competition traffic

Harley Davidson motor cycle 8,070 1,300

Harley Davidson choppers 9,660 1,900

Harley Davidson frames 2,560 2,400

Harley Davidson gear 7,860 3,600

Harley Davidson windshield 3,460 2,900

screaming eagle Harley Davidson 1,980 5,400

This table shows you that if you can use any of these keywords in your article you have the chance of getting the amount of traffic to them that is shown. How amazing is that?

Just looking at the last one, Screaming eagle Harley Davidson, you can see that there are 5400 people a month searching for that particular term. If you used that keyword and came to your page and you only sold a $50.00 product to 5% of them that would be a total of $13,500.

I can only encourage you to give Article Marketing a chance. It worked for me and I know it will work for you too! Success online is all about perseverance and copying what is working. Article Marketing works and in further articles we will discuss, article research, article content, and the structure of your article
